Green Peace Inn is more than just another yoga retreat centre; it is a place which offers you all kinds of tools to find your balance again. We know that life can be challenging sometimes, which makes it even harder to stay present and in harmony. That’s why we genuinely care about helping you to find your balance through different meditation & breathing techniques to calm your mind, yoga to strengthen your body and healthy food to lift your spirits.
Yoga: A Journey to Inner Strength
Yoga, as a cornerstone of our retreats, extends beyond physical postures. It's a practice of self-discovery, self-mastery and empowerment. Guided by well-trained instructors, you'll dive deep into a transformative exploration of your body and mind, cultivating strength, flexibility, and a profound connection and understanding to your inner self.
Meditation: Finding balance and inner Peace
In the quest for inner peace, our yoga retreat places a spotlight on the transformative impact of meditation. These ancient practices act as a foundation, enabling you to explore the depths of your consciousness and emerge with a revitalised sense of clarity and purpose.
Breathwork: Soul-Nourishing Practice
Breathwork can be described as a portal and door to our internal and external worlds. You can give space, expansion, and opportunity for shifts, movement, insights, and change in one session. You have the chance to return to your body that holds you dearly and works non-stop so that you may exist here and now.
Nutrition: As a Source of Vitality
There is a direct connection between body, mind and spirit. We have been observing our bodies for many years by practising yoga, meditating, and eating different foods. Over the years we felt this direct connection between the quality of our practice and our lives and the food choices we made. Based on our own experience, we created a plant based menu that will help you to go even deeper in this yoga retreat.
What people say about our Yoga center:
Green Peace Inn in Sri Lanka
"As you walk and eat and travel, be where you are. Otherwise you will miss most of your life."
~ Buddha
Feel at home
Inspired by the nomadic way of life, the cosy character of Green Peace Inn comes from natural surfaces and earthy tones. Comfy pillows and hand-picked accessories add to the warm, bohemian atmosphere. A personal space in which to kick back and slow down. Choose from simple garden rooms to shared rooms with ocean view and private rooms with ocean view and balcony.
Beautiful coastline of Sri Lanka
The south of Sri Lanka shares with us a beautiful coastline, tropical jungles, and warm-hearted people. The local community provides us with fresh fruits and vegetables for our plant-based cuisine. Our rooftop is the ideal viewpoint for breathtaking sunsets and the Yoga Shala provides space for your personal practice, chill out time, and moments to just be.
Surf during the day
We are located on Sri Lanka's south coast at Weligama Beach. A walk away is an easy surf beach break for beginners to learn. During the afternoons, you are free to enjoy the space, read a book, journal, or rest. If you like, you can explore surfing by yourself, rent a board on the beach, or get a surf instructor from the many surf schools only a walk away.
Ayurvedic cuisine in Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka is famous for its variety of healthy Ayurvedic rice and curries. During our yoga and breathwork retreat, we will serve you different authentic rice and curry four times, made by the Sri Lankan family that owns the building and lives with us. In Sri Lanka, it is common to have rice, with 3-5 different curries, which the local people eat with their hands.
Why to master the mind?
Being present will help us in so many situations in life. For Example in: Work, Relationship, Family, Friends & Health
If we learn to choose how to think and only use our minds for what we want, we will suffer less with our thoughts.
By mastering the mind with meditation, we start creating a fulfilled life.
Life happens now; meditation will help us to be present with what is.

“I booked a retreat at Green Peace Inn to slow down, reground, and do a lot of yoga... but the experience exceeded every expectation. This is truly a once in a lifetime experience for personal growth, reconnection, and relearning.
Martina and Alex cultivate an environment of love, wisdom, generosity, and acceptance, which made us all feel so loved and supported throughout the week and any challenges that came up. HUGE thank you to all the lovely people who made this experience so magical.”

“I got so much more out of this retreat than I was expecting. Alex and Martina have curated such a beautiful space for people to reconnected with themselves. I travelled here alone having never been to a retreat before, and I felt so safe, supported and welcome. The connection and friendships I gained throughout the week was wonderfully unexpected and I had a great experience sharing a room! The location is divine, and my favourite part of the day was practicing Yin Yoga on the rooftop at sunset. Magical. 🙌”

“I just returned from a wonderful week in this lovely house. The retreat was a deep journey into myself in a peaceful and save space. Alex and Martina are the most inspiring and wonderful hosts I ever met, professional and same time making you feel like friends. They live what they teach and they don't push themselves or their Ego into the mid of everyone’s attention.
It was recharging and energizing to be in a group of many different ages and countries.”

“The retreat was pure bliss. The programme was so thoughtful, the accommodation beautiful & located right by the beach, the food absolutely delicious and the staff so welcoming and friendly. What stood out most was how Martina and Alex created such a safe space to feel free and let my emotions go and then learn how to deal with them. What made it extra special were the lovely people that this retreat attracts and that you can connect so deeply to. If you are on a path of self discovery, there’s no better place for you than GPI.”

“The hosts are full of loving kindness, open, undogmatic and sensitive. The retreat was really organized very professional and well thought out so that it was easy to dive deeper into self-exploration, meditation, yoga and breathwork as well as connecting with others on a profound level. It was just amazing to watch oneself and the other participants surrender into slowness, authenticity, personal growth and open hearts. I can highly recommend this retreat to anyone - the only thing you will ever regret about it, is when the last day arrives and you realize that it's time to leave this heaven.”

Facilitators
Over the last years, Martina & Alex have held over 55 Yoga Retreats in Sri Lanka and many workshops throughout Europe.
Their mission is to share the power of the breath to create awareness for ourselves and others.
Alex
Alex's passion is discovering the power of the breath, emotions, mind, and anything our bodies consume. He spent more than 13 years practising meditation, which for him, is the foundation for almost everything. He is a certified yoga teacher, and to deepen his knowledge of working with the breath and the body, he has completed the Breathwork Teacher Training under Anthony Abbagnano at Alchemy of Breath School and further studied with other breathwork schools (BioDynamic Breathwork(BBTRS), Wim Hof and Dan Brule).
Alex worked for many years in hospitality and as a chef for a restaurant in Germany specializing in dishes for people with food allergies. His passion for healthy food is always part of his retreats.
He has also studied computer science and business informatics twice and has been running his own web and IT service company for the past ten years. He knows the challenges of a busy and stressful life. For him, meditation and using the breath are the foundation for dealing with nearly every situation in life. From attending many retreats, workshops, and courses worldwide, he combines everything he learned and will share from these traditions, which have further developed through his practice.
Isayaka (Jess)
Isayaka is a student of life, a very experienced yoga teacher and a medicine Medicine Womban (Women) carrying cacao, kambo, mellipona, song and prayer in devotion to the good of all life. She shares the practice of embodied yoga from an intuitive place of deep personal study that has spanned 12 years of traditional Hatha yoga, Yin Yoga, meditation, Bhakti/devotion, vinyasa flow, womb yoga, traditional Chinese medicine, tantra, philosophy, free form movement, ecstatic dance, somatics, trauma release therapy, mind-body centring and somatic psychotherapy. She has a passion for movement & is grateful to her body as one of her greatest teachers in this life. She bows to all the teachers on her path, and believes you cannot repay a teacher in 10000 lives.
Her classes are carried by her love of music and through movement, music, poetry, imagination, sound and song, through which we can inner-stand so much of the mystery. She invites you to get lost and found and find new embodied pathways of relating to life through the practice. Moving with the cycles that weave us all, Isayaka embodies earthy wisdom and believes all things lead back to simple truths that the earth herself reveals to us when we move at her pace and listen with reverence. Her own business “Wild Medicina” is an outpouring of the teachings and practices that have supported her journey towards wholeness.
Martina
Martina is pregnant and will only teach the retreats until September 2024. Isayaka (Jess) will be her replacement for all retreats from November 2024 till April 2025.
Isayaka was already teaching with us in 2017 and 2018.
_______________________________
Martina’s purpose in life is to share, support and give. Her intention is to empower people through breathwork and yoga so they can rise up and see their own purpose and truth.
She is a 400hr Hatha yoga, 260hr Synergy yoga, and 100hr Yin yoga teacher. When she is teaching, she creates a safe and secret space that her students can find stillness in thematic yoga sequences to reconnect with their body, mind, and soul, and feel the balance between strengthening and relaxation with breathing awareness.
She invites her students into their own greatness, offering resources to manage daily life while having some fun along the way ;-). In 2017 she fell in love with Breathwork and began to discover conscious connected breath in her teacher training with Alchemy of Breath. For Martina, breathwork is one of the powerful tools where she experienced a massive shift in herself and saw happen in others. She realized the breathwork practice brings awareness to our life and the decisions we make.
Awareness is the first step in CHANGE.

Why to learn to breathe?
Nervous system
Our breath is connected to our nervous system, and by using our breath, we can down-regulate it.
Emotions
Our breath is connected to our emotional state; by learning to play with the breath, we can choose how we want to feel.
Being present
Our breath is always with us; it's the perfect tool for meditation and presence.
Spiritual Experiences
By doing Pranayamas and Breathwork, we have tools to create spiritual experiences by our self, just with breathing.
Wake up
There are a few breath techniques which we can use in the morning to wake up; they work like coffee.
Let go of old patterns
With Breathwork, there is a tool where we can rewrite old patterns and beliefs. How? We will teach you this in our retreat.
