Breathwork in Sri Lanka

“When you own your breath, nobody can steal your peace.”

The breath is one of our body's most self-evident functions. Regulated by our autonomic nervous system, it functions without our intervention and is often ignored. The breath significantly impacts our mental health and physical wellbeing.

Our days are often packed and we have this habit of pushing down our true emotions just to continue functioning in this world. This survival strategy may work in the short term, but when we don't process these emotions and continue to suppress them over and over again, this energy gets trapped in our bodies and can turn into physical, mental, or emotional pain.

Working with the breath

As we mentioned before, our nervous system regulates our breath. Maybe you notice the way you feel has a strong effect on how you breathe. When we start to work with the breath and begin to influence our breath actively, we can access our nervous system. This means we can use the breath to create how we want to feel and achieve greater balance.

It is essential to understand that breath is the key to our autonomic nervous system and our wellbeing.

In our retreats, you will get to know different kinds of breathing techniques including traditional yoga breathing "Pranayamas", a breath-awareness meditation, and Conscious Connected Breathing. Our goal is that you get a better understanding of your breath and therefore, yourself; to stop your "autopilot" when necessary and take action for a happier, healthier, and more balanced life.

Conscious Connected Breath = Breakthrough with BREATHWORK

The Conscious Connected Breath can be described as an active meditation that helps to reduce the chatter in the mind and release emotion through the practice of this physical breathing technique. Breathwork acts as a portal and door to our internal and external worlds. In one session, you can create space and expansion along with an opportunity for shifts, movement, insights, and change. It gives you the chance to come back to your body, which holds us so dearly together and works non-stop so that we can exist here and now.

Let’s say thank you by giving our bodies their most nutrient superfood… air.

“Feelings come and go like clouds in a windy sky. Conscious breathing is my anchor.”
